Ingredients: Chicken Tikka (Marinade); 2 pounds chicken (I used boneless and skinless - chicken breast and thighs); 1½ cups plain yogurt or hung curd; 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice; 1 tablespoon garam masala or homemade garam masala; 1 tablespoon ginger (minced); 5 cloves garlic (minced); 1 teaspoon salt; Chicken Tikka Masala (Curry Sauce); 3 tablespoons Olive Oil or vegetable oil; 2 large onions (finely chopped); 5 cloves garlic (minced); 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (minced); 1 teaspoon turmeric; 2 teaspoons garam masala; 2 teaspoons coriander powder (or ground); 2 teaspoons cumin powder (or ground); 2 teaspoons chili powder (deggi mirch powder); 1 cup of regular diced tomatoes (fire-roasted tomatoes); 2 cups tomato sauce (or passata ); ½ cup half and half; 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste); 2 tablespoons butter (unsalted); Serving Suggestions (All Optional); ½ cup cooked basmati rice (per serving); 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh cilantro (garnish)
