Hi! I’m Ashmita, the food lover behind Magenta Streaks.
So, why the name? Honestly, it just felt like my cooking—colorful, a little unpredictable, and never boring. “Magenta” is that fun pop I like to bring to my recipes, and the “streaks” are those moments of inspiration when I’m just throwing things together and somehow it works out deliciously.
My love for cooking started in my mom’s kitchen, where we’d whip up whatever we had on hand, often turning leftovers into something magical (cottage cheese scrambles, anyone?).
As I grew older, I found myself experimenting more, taking family favorites and giving them my own twist—whether it’s creating a new take on an Indian dish (like my vegan butter chicken) or perfecting a one-pot recipe (like my chicken tikka masala) to save time on busy weeknights.
So, how did Magenta Streaks become my food blog?
One night, after enjoying one of my favorite black bean curry, my husband casually said, “You should start a food blog!”
His simple suggestion really struck a chord with me. With his encouragement, we set out to make it happen together that very night.
He supported me in every way from the beginning, helping me set up my website from scratch and guiding me through the whole process. From taking drool-worthy photos of my food to editing them just right, he was by my side every step of the way.
His enthusiasm and support made this journey fun, and I couldn’t wait to share my recipes and cooking experiences with you!
Lastly, If you want to ask anything, please send me your query ashmita(at)magentastreaks(dot)com.
I’m thankful to you for being here, Happy Cooking! :)
